The Zookeeper's Wife 2017 English

This is one of those stories that the cinema had to stand up for. A moving film story that really happened. Antonina Żabińska, the wife of the director of the Warsaw Zoo, together with her husband, Jan, hid dozens of Jews during World War II. They personally got them out of the ghetto and helped them survive within the deserted walls of the zoo. Some were hidden in places intended for animals, others in the Żabiński villa. In 1965, Jan and Antonina Żabiński were awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations by the Jad Wasz Institute.
